Eileen Walters, 95, of Hamilton, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Brookdale Senior Living in Hamilton.
Born in on Christmas Day in St. Louis MO, she moved to Hamilton in 1953 with her late husband, Raymond A. Walters. She graduated from Hadley Vocational school in St. Louis, MO. After working in a variety of clerical positions, she joined Sears and Roebuck in Trenton, NJ and eventually was promoted to the Personnel Dept. After retiring from Sears, she dedicated her career to working in the medical field and retired once again as a Patient Navigator at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton Township. She was an avid community volunteer and was a member of the Decou Hose Company’s Ladies Auxiliary and Sunshine Lady for the Hamilton Township Senior Center. Eileen was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and crocheting.
Daughter of the late James Thompson and Ora (Kelsey) Thompson, sister of the late Shirley Thompson Flori and the late Ora Lee (Cookie) Thompson Beffa; she is survived by her brother James K. Thompson; her son Raymond J. Walters of Burlington; two grandchildren, Jackie Walters Atkinson and husband Ryan, and Matthew Walters; three great grandchildren, Eamon and Caiden Atkinson, and Lily Walters, as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and family members.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville.
Entombment will follow in Colonial Memorial Park Mausoleum, Hamilton.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021
from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Brookdale Senior Living, 1645 Whitehorse Mercerville Rd, Hamilton Township, NJ 08619 or Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011, to support treatment for dementia related behaviors.
