Vivian G. Hawkes, 93, of Hamilton, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong Hamilton area resident. She was employed by the Hamilton Township Board of Education for many years before retiring. Vivian loved being a devoted wife and mother, always caring for those she loved. In her spare time, she enjoyed camping with her family at Tom’s Cove in Virginia.
Predeceased by her parents, John and Ertha (Stubblebine) Huff; her beloved husband of 60 years, John P. Hawkes, Sr.; sisters, Ertha Kelly and Ruth Nulty; and son-in-law, Frederick Senf; she is survived by her daughters, Carlie Whitaker, with whom she resided; and Debra Senf;
son, John P. (Sandra) Hawkes, Jr.; grandchildren, Audra (Tom) Gelmacher, and Heather Senf; three great-grandsons, Clayton and Jackson Gelmacher, and Shawn Onyszczuk; one great-granddaughter, Tyler Gelmacher; as well as many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Services were private and under the direction of the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Homes, Hamilton.
