Vincent W. “Butch” Hixson, Jr., 80, of Hamilton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Hamilton Grove.
Born September 26, 1942 in Trenton, NJ he was a lifelong area resident. Butch was employed as a mechanic with the City of Trenton, Police Garage for 30 years until retirement. He was a member of the Central Jersey CBer’s Association, where he met and became good friends with many families, including The Erceg’s. He loved to go camping with family and friends and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Predeceased by his parents, Vincent W. Hixson, Sr. and Miriam (Taylor) Hixson; his son Ronald James Hixson; and his loving wife of 55 years, Joan Rue Hixson. He is survived by his son, Nelson Hixson of North Carolina; daughters, Kimberly (Michael) Rodweller and Michelle (Christopher Donahue) Knox, both of Hamilton, NJ; his grandchildren, Amanda (Joseph) Scaramozzino, Krystal Hixson, Alyse Hixson, Dana Hixson, Thomas Knox and Trevor Pogorzelski; many great grandchildren; sister, Joyce (Richard) Cassidy; as well as many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Services are private and under the direction of the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Home.

Butch was a hard working, dedicated supervisor at the police garage. It was unbelievable the job they did maintaining so many vehicles. Very unappreciated by the city. Great work ethic. They could never replace someone like him. RIP
