Thomas John McHale, age 90, of Yardville, died March 19, 2021, at Preferred Care at Hamilton. Son of the late Thomas C. and Mary Mastin McHale, he was born in Bordentown, NJ and moved to Hamilton, NJ, in 1956 and resided there for the past 64 years.
Tom is predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Catherine Dorothy (nee McGrath). Survived by his son Thomas Edward, with whom he resided, 3 grandsons, Connor D., Ian J., Ryan P., and sister and brothers-in-law Mary Joan and Nicholas Tummillo and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Also survived by son David James.
Tom is a graduate of Trenton Catholic Boys High School and received a Bachelor of Science from Fordham University College of Pharmacy in 1952. He was a member of the Fordham Alumni Association, NJ Society of Hospital Pharmacists, Ancient Order of Hibernians Monsignor Crean Division #1, Knights of Columbus Council #355, the Golden Wave Club of Trenton Catholic Alumni, National Rifle Association, Citizens Rifle and Revolver Club, a founder of BSA Troop #870, co-founder of the Zipper Club at St. Francis Medical Center and Hamilton Senior Citizens Club.
Tom was the player-manager of Hamilton Hospital softball team for 20 years which competed in the Hamilton Township league. He owned and operated McHale's Pharmacy in Hamilton for 21 years and later as Staff Pharmacist at Hamilton Hospital for another 21 years. Tom received the prestigious Hamilton Hospital Professional Employee of the Year on 2 occasions and retired in 1995.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 11:00am from the
Buklad-Merlino Memorial Home, 2141 South Broad Street, Hamilton.
Burial will be private in St. Mary’s cemetery, Bordentown
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00am until time of service at the Memorial Home.
