Thomas C. Lanning, 80, of Columbus, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at Brookdale Senior Living, Westampton, NJ.
Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area residence, most recently residing in Columbus.
Tom was a Vice President of Stryker Machine Products in Hamilton Twp., he then went onto work for IMO/DeLaval for many years, until his retirement. He was a longtime member of the Gothic-Fraternal Lodge No. 270, F&AM, Hamilton Elks Lodge #2262, was a past Grand Tall Cedar of Trenton Forest Tall Cedars # 4, and a member of their Holding Association. He was a past Deacon and Elder of the Yardville Presbyterian Church. Tom was a past President of Holiday Rambler Camping Club and the N.T.C. Camping Club. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed camping and giving back to his community, with his service in many organizations. Tom loved spending time with his family and especially adored his granddaughter, Mackenzie.
Predeceased by his parents, Edward M. and Ruth (Yates) Lanning, and his brother, Frederick E. Lanning; he is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Joyce “Sue” (Cunningham) Lanning; daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Patrick Schlagel, and Cindy and Matt Golway; grandchildren Rory and Mackenzie; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, July 11, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at United Presbyterian Church, 12 Yardville-Hamilton Square Road, Yardville, NJ 08620.
A Masonic Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Church. Followed by a Funeral Service with the Rev. Donald LaCross, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Presbyterian Church, 12 Yardville-Hamilton Square Road, Yardville, NJ 08620 or to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home.

My heartfelt condolences to Joyce and family. Tom was a wonderful person to know. I have many fond memories of times spent with him years ago in TCL No. 4. May he rest in peace and let light perpetual shine upon him for ever and ever
