Tarmie F. Foster

February 2, 1951 - October 9, 2024


Tarmie F. Foster, 73, of Groveville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at home surrounded by the love of her family.

 

Born in, Mount Holly, NJ she was a resident of Groveville for many years.  She developed a love for computers in the early 1980’s. She was innovative and groundbreaking being the first female creator and administrator of the Bulletin Board System, Dixieland Express, which was connected from coast to coast. She was also the owner of Matlack Associates computer company. Later in life she became a Technical Writer for MBNA and Bank of America.

 

She loved reading and collecting books. She had a hidden talent for poetry. 

She was an avid photographer who enjoyed bird watching. She was a creative, innovative, forward-thinking person that was talented in a myriad of passions. Most of all she loved her family and the time she spent with them and was the most generous, giving person you would ever meet.

 

Predeceased by her parents, Howard N. and Mary P. (Ulissi) Foote;

she is survived by her daughter and caregiver, Tarmie Matlack; sister, Mary Whelan-Hohl (Jon); grandchildren, Tarmie Matlack (Paul), and Joseph B. Hohl (Rachel); great granddaughter, Aria Roske; best friend, Cheryl Wurst; as well as many other relatives and dear friends.

 

A Graveside service will be held Friday, October 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mount Holly Cemetery,  300 Ridgeway StreetMount Holly, New Jersey, 08060.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Homes, Hamilton, NJ.
