Robert E. Wells, 74, of Yardville, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at home surrounded by the love of his wife, Marianne.
Born in Meshoppen, PA, he was a lifelong area resident. He was employed for many years as an IT/Systems Analyst prior to retirement, then went on to work at Manheim.
Bob was an avid Yankees fan and enjoyed watching their games on tv and at the stadiums. He was a NASCAR fan, and he and Marianne made yearly trips to attend the Daytona 500. He loved spending time with his wife and they often traveled together. They took trips to Cape May to spend time on their boat, and visited many lighthouses both in NJ as well as many other states. They went on a cross country trip several years ago, where he was impressed with the beauty of Yellowstone. Bob and Marianne were the loves of each other's lives, they were always together, and rarely seen without the other. He took pride in his home-grown tomatoes, which came from his impressive backyard vegetable garden.
Predeceased by his parents, Robert and Lucy (Buckingham) Wells; his sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and Donald Smith;his brother, William Wells; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Paul and Felicita Robb; he is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Marianne (Robb) Wells; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Doris Robb, and Bruce and Marianne Robb; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville.
A prayer service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with local clergy officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton
