Nelson Godinez, 48, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 21st at Capital Health Fuld, Trenton, New Jersey.
Born and raised in Guatemala, he met the love of his life Miriam Godinez. Together, they moved together to the United States, where he pursued his passion for cooking. Ever since, he found his love for cooking pizzas and Italian food.
Nelson was known for his bright smile and kindness. He was family-focused and always prioritized his wife and daughters, Miriam Yanet, Kimberly and Deisy Godinez.
He was a respected member of Saint Mary’s Cathedral and often volunteered to cook for and organize events.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Home, 2141 South Broad Street, Hamilton, NJ.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 29 at 10:00 am Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption, 151 North Warren Street, Trenton, NJ 08608.
Burial will follow in Colonial Memorial Park, 3039 South Broad Street, Hamilton, NJ.
Immediately following the burial, friends and family are invited to join the family back at St. Mary’s Cathedral.

Nacido y criado en Guatemala, conoció al amor de su vida Miriam Godinéz. Juntos, se mudaron a los Estados Unidos, donde persiguió su pasión por la cocina. Desde ahí empezó su amor por cocinar las pizzas y comida italiana.
Nelson era conocido por su brillante sonrisa y amabilidad. Estaba centrado en la familia y siempre priorizó a su esposa e hijas, Miriam Yanet, Kimberly y Deisy Godinez.
Fue un miembro respetado de la Catedral Santa María y se ofreció como voluntario para cocinar y organizar eventos para la comunidad.
Los servicios funerales para familiares y amigos se llevará a cabo el Viernes, 28 de Abril de 6:00 pm a 9:00 pm en conmemorativa Buklad-Merlino, 2141 South Broad Street, Hamilton, NJ
La misa y el entierro se llevarán a cabo el Sábado 29 de Abril a las 10:00 am en la Catedral de Santa María, 151 N Warren Street, Trenton, NJ
Los servicios serán seguidos con un entierro en Colonial Memorial Park, 3039 South Broad Street, Hamilton.
