Mary Anne Brophy Miller, 87, of Bordentown, NJ entered into her eternal rest with the Lord on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Serenity Hospice at RWJ University Hospital in Hamilton, NJ.
Mary Anne was born on June 5, 1937, in Washington , D.C. She resided in Hamilton, NJ until most recently residing in Bordentown, NJ. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Cathedral High School Class of 1955. Mary Anne was affectionately known to family and friends as “Mamie”.
Mary Anne retired in 1992 from the NJ Department of Treasury, Division of Pension and Health Benefits after 40 years of service as a Police and Fireman pension specialist. She continued her career in the Mercer County Board of Elections and Finance office from which she retired in 1995. She was an avid reader and interior decorator, but her greatest joy was spending time with friends and family laughing and telling tales.

Mary Anne was predeceased by her husband, John Carlton Miller II; son, John Carton Miller III; daughter, Mary Colleen Miller Maher; grandson, John Patrick Maher; her parents, James V. Brophy and Elinore (Morrison) Brophy; sister, Jane (Brophy) Thompson and brother-in law, Bruce N. Thompson; brothers, James A. Brophy, Joseph T. Brophy, T. Frank Brophy and Mark A. Brophy; and brothers-in-law, William E. Hargreaves, Cyrus J. Cattani, Jr and Robert J. Miller.
She is survived by her brother, Matthew C. Brophy and wife, Sharon; sisters, Ellen Hargreaves; Joan P. Brophy; Kathleen Tackacs and husband, Nickolas G. Tackacs; Julia P. Brophy, and Anastasia Snyder and husband Russell J. Snyder, Jr.; sister-in-law, Lynne Cattani; many nieces and nephews who she adored; as well as her loving and devoted friends, Mauricio “Pat” Patrizio, Frank Rios, Maria Pepper, Diedra Reisner and Gladys Cruz-Woliver.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, July 15, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 3816 East State Street Ext., Hamilton, NJ 08619.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of the mass at the church.
All services will be held at the church, there will be no visitation at the funeral home.
Services are under the direction of the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Homes, Hamilton.
Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Trenton.
