Lynn H. Buechler, 89, of Lakewood, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Monmouth Medical Center – Southern Campus in Lakewood.
Born and raised in Queens, New York, she moved to Wayne, NJ in 1964 and lived there for many years. 22 years ago, Lynn made Lakewood her home, residing in the Fairways Community, and for the past 20 years, she was the Editor of the Fairways Legend Community Newspaper.
She enjoyed flowers and was a member of a gardening club. As an avid reader, she belonged to a book club, and enjoyed Bible Study. Lynn was also a bowler and was a member of a bowling team. She enjoyed traveling to different States in the U.S.A., and loved Montauk, NY, and she enjoyed winters in St. Marten with her late husband, Coleman. But most of all she loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Predeceased by her parents, Arthur Lavis and Helen (Wesler) Lavis, her sister, Diane Lavis Schultz; and her husband Coleman Buechler; she is survived by her children, Scott Rothamel and his wife, Diane, Tracy Peterson and her husband, Ron, and Michael Rothamel; a brother, Arthur Lavis; grandchildren, Brett, Jason, Emily, Megan, Davey, April, Ariel, Alexia, Garrett, Colette, Amy and Alex; her stepchildren, Sherri Buechler and Gary Buechler; 7 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. at the
Buklad-Merlino Memorial Home, 2141 South Broad Street, Hamilton, with local clergy officiating.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at the Memorial Home.
Burial will follow in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover Twp., NJ.
Due to flower restrictions at the veteran’s cemetery, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Wow ! Where do I begin about my “Aunt Lynn”. 2nd mom. My fondest memories start in Wayne NJ and Ocean Isle . Every summer our families would go together to Ocean isle and frolick in the ocean. I remember Aunt Lynn standing there shouting “Pay Attention” … she was tbe one who should have paid attention when that Jelly Fish latched on to her. i remember getting to spend a couple weeks each summer up in Wayne with Aunt Lynn , my uncle John , my cousins Scott, Tracy and Michael.
