Leroy F. Solderich, “Duke” 88, of Lawrenceville, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2020, at Brandywine Living in Princeton, surrounded by his family. Born in Northampton,PA, Leroy was a resident of Hamilton, NJ before moving to Lawrenceville and most recently Princeton. He worked as a machinist at DeLaval Turbine Co until he retired. A Korean War veteran, Leroy enjoyed fishing and hunting and was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan. He was a longtime member of the Elks Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars ,and along with his wife, Irene, enjoyed ballroom dancing. Most of all Leroy loved spending time with his family and indulging his grandchildren.
Predeceased by his parents, John and Helen Solderich, his son, Michael Solderich, and his son in law, Edward Olszewski, he is survived by his wife, Irene Solderich, daughters, Sharon Saatsoglou (Paul), Georgette Mkrtitschian (Andrew), Leeann Olszewski and daughter in law , Donna Solderich ; grandchildren ( Tiffany, Jamie, Stephanie, Laura, Stacey and Michael), great grandchildren (Michael and Leo) .
Visitation for family and friends will be held, Friday, June 18, 2021 at 11:30 am at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville, NJ 08620 followed by a Commitment Service at 1:30 pm at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Rd., Wrightstown, NJ 08562
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Veterans of Foreign Wars.
