Joseph E. Signor

April 3, 1944 - November 30, 2018

Joseph E. Signor, age 74, of Hamilton, passed on peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on November 30th, 2018 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.

Joe was born in Philadelphia and raised in Camden, NJ. He attended Woodrow Wilson High School. Joe then spent the next 8 years serving in the United States Navy, which was his ambition since he was eight years old. He served on several ships including the USS McNair, the USS Canisteo, the USS Cadmus, as well as being stationed in Newfoundland. Joe held the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class when he was honorably discharged in 1970. Joe loved his Navy experiences and was willing to talk about them with anyone who was interested. Joe retired from BASF Corp., Cranbury, NJ. While employed there, he was a stationary engineer, using the skills he acquired in the Navy.

Joe was predeceased by his parents, Alfred E. Signor and Ellen Gibson Signor. He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Joanna Signor (but as he would always say, he's known her for 50!); daughter, Anna Marie Signor and partner, Jason; son, Joseph M. Signor and his wife, Kristin; brother, Alfred R. Signor and his wife, Chu. Joe is also survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters in-law: Ronald and Lynn Pizzullo; Joseph Pizzullo; Dorothea Pizzullo; Kurt and Mary Lou Pizzullo; Rosemary Pizzullo; Cecilia and Charles Rosati; and many nieces and nephews.

Joe's family wishes to thank the ICU staff, especially Meghan, for their expert care and concern for Joe; the emergency crews; the hospital doctors; and all the doctors who have taken care of Joe through the years. Also, a thank you to Fr. Charles, Ted, Barbara and anyone else who touched our lives at this time.
