John "Jack" Burns

September 18, 1936 - May 11, 2020

John “Jack” Burns, 83, of Ewing Township passed away on Monday, May 11, 2020 at home.


Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident.


Jack as he was fondly known by friends and family was a sales representative for Lance Snack Distributors in Trenton with over 25 years of service. He was lifetime member and Trustee for Signal 22 the past 63 years. Throughout that time, he served Signal 22 in many different capacities. Jack was also a member of the historic City of Trenton Fire Museum as well as a life member of the Mercer County Fireman's Association.


Son of the late John and Alice Pitman Burns, twin brother of the late William Burns, and brother of the late George Burns, he is survived by his sister Martha Burns; nephews Jim and Frank Sunkiskis, George Preston and his wife Margaret, and Jimmy Preston, niece Lydia Ryba and her husband Jim; as well as many other nieces, nephews, and other family members.


Due to public health regulations a private funeral service will be held on Friday, May 15, 2020 at the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Home, 2141 South Broad Street in Hamilton. Private burial will follow in Ewing Church Cemetery.
