John J. Malloy

July 12, 1936 - December 2, 2023



John J. “Jack” Malloy, 87, of Hamilton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at RWJ Hospital at Hamilton in Serenity Hospice.


Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong Trenton/Hamilton area resident.


A Navy Veteran, Jack worked for many years at the Trenton Times Newspaper. He later worked as a Crossing Guard for Hamilton Schools for 20 years before his retirement. In his spare time, he was an avid runner, have participated in over 40 marathons, was a Boston Redsox fan, and enjoyed trips to Parx Horse Racing. Jack was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #6213, and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.


Son of the late John and Betty Malloy, father of the late John and Joseph S. Malloy, and brother of the late Jerry and Kevin Malloy, he is survived by his wife Jill Voorhees Malloy of 41 years; his two daughters, Kathleen Drost, and Meredith C. Malloy; sister-in-law Judy Mock; and he was Pop Jack to his two adopted grandchildren, Juliana Payne and Bryson Swiderski; as well as other relatives and close friends.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, December 8, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 pm at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road in Yardville. Funeral service will be held 12:30 pm at the memorial home with Pastor Andi Semler-Laidlaw of Allentown United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Allentown United Methodist Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1999, Memphis, TN 38101.
