Joan M. Alloway, 85, of Trenton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Hamilton Continuing Care Center, Hamilton.
Born in Hamilton Township, NJ, she was a lifelong Trenton area resident. She retired after 20 years of service from the City of Trenton, Office of Vital Statistics. She was an excellent seamstress, and Elvis fan, who enjoyed going out on adventures with her children. Joan loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Predeceased by her parents, Albert E. Hutchinson, Sr., and Eva Carroll Hutchinson; her beloved husband, Orville “Sonny” Alloway; and her siblings, Beatrice Przemieniecki, Alberta Parrish, Albert Hutchinson, Jr., Mary Jane Hutchinson, Robert Hutchinson, Elizabeth (Alice) Matson, Winifred Heath, Elynor Purks, Wilma Black, John (Theodore) Hutchinson, and Carol (Sue) Agabiti.
She is survived by her loving children, Deborah (Paul) Rebovich, Margaret Maxwell, Diane Oakley, Cheryl Lynn (Jim) Lopez, Patricia Welker, Gina (David) Logsdon; and Genorose (Gino) Testa. She is also survived by her and her loving husband Sonny’s children, Viola (Robert) Struck, Catherine (Daniel) Rivera, Loretta (Ted) Shennard, and Louis (Karen) Alloway; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, September 1, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Home, 2141 South Broad Street, Hamilton with a service beginning at 11:30 a.m. with local clergy officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton.
