Irene Sophia Amburg, 88, of Bordentown, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 17, 2023 at home.
Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong resident of Hamilton. Irene retired from computer services at Princeton University, where she managed the payroll department. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to Bingo, trips to the Jersey shore and Atlantic City, crocheting, and cooking. Irene was also a member of the Altar Rosary Society at St. Raphael Church.
Daughter of the late Alfred and Irene Pilka Nannie, wife of the late John Edward Amburg, she is survived by her three children, John Amburg, Jr. (Madelon), Boston, MA, Patricia Arnesen (Roger), Bordentown, NJ, and Linda Swift of Lancaster, PA; granddaughter, Briana Swift, England; sisters-in-law, Peggy Beaston, and Joyce Roberts; brother-in-law, Ray Bennett; dear friend Winnie Kotz; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Special thanks to Joanna and Doris from Serenity Hospice.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday morning,
January 23, 2023 from 9:00 a.m.- 10:00 a.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Home, 2141 South Broad Street, Hamilton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. at St. Raphael Church, 3500 South Broad Street, Hamilton Township. Burial will follow in Princeton Memorial Park, 403 Gordon Road, Robbinsville, NJ.
The family requests that visitors wear masks.

We were sorry to hear the passing of Aunt Irene. I have fond memories of seeing her down AC and playing out back with my sisters.
Mom has great memories of her AC buddy.
