Gerald N. Jones, 68, of Hamilton, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at home.
Born in Shenandoah, PA, he moved to Hamilton as a child and has been a lifelong area resident.
Jerry, as he was known by friends and family, graduated from Hamilton High School West in 1970. He attended Mercer County Community College and was a member of Kappa Sigma Kappa Fraternity. He worked at many local businesses since 1966, including ACME Markets, Whitehorse Exxon, Trenton Country Club, Sears Roebuck, Two Guys, and then at Penn National Insurance Company, Harrisburg, PA, as a Senior Safety Consultant for 40 years. He was past President of the American Society of Safety Engineers, from 1999-2001. He was also past President for Papp’s bowling league.
He enjoyed all sports including all the Philadelphia teams, especially the Flyers and Phillies. He loved golfing, traveling and making trips to Atlantic City. He especially enjoyed Monday night pool nights with his golfing buddies. Jerry enjoyed summer cookouts and the Christmas progressive parties with his neighbors.
Jerry married his best friend Barbara Kausler Jones. They were married for 47 years. She predeceased him on June 12, 2020. He is also son of the late L. Nelson and Helen McAndrew Jones, brother of the late Nancy Cook, and Jean McGlynn, brother-in-law of the late Clifford Willever II, Gregory Neiderman, Sr., Ed Cook, Sam McGlynn, Peggy Jones, and uncle of the late Charlie Cook; he is survived by his brother Robert Jones, sisters, Kathleen Neiderman and Patricia Willever; sister-in-law Patricia Niper (Ken), brothers-in-law, James Kausler (Joy), and Joseph Kausler (Michele); 24 nieces and nephews as well as their spouses and children.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at 9 a.m., from the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road in Yardville. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. at St. Raphael’s Church. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may attend a visitation on Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to a charity of the donor’s choice.
