May 24, 1934 – December 22, 2021
Gerald “Jerry” Weakley, 87 of Hamilton Sq., NJ, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021.
Born in Groveville, NJ, Jerry grew up in the Hamilton area, attended Hamilton High School where he played football and met the love of his life Eleanor. He told everyone, “We started going together when she was 16 and I was 18, we were just teenagers!”
Known to many as “Big Daddy”, he lived large and could always be counted on for a shot and a beer in his garage. When he entered any room, he became the room. He spent his career at PSE&G retiring with over 40 years of service, where he met many life-long friends. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a lifetime member of the 7-Buck Club in Cassville where he served as president several times and created lasting friendships. He also spent many an afternoon pheasant hunting with his beloved bird dog Bueford.
He is survived by his loving wife Eleanor; daughters Cindy and Nancy; grandchildren Michael, Jake (Jasmine), Nata, and Miranda; and great-grandchildren Sage and Ripple.
He was the best husband, Pop, Pop-Pop, Grandpa, uncle and friend anyone could ask for; we will all miss this gregarious man with the large laugh and huge heart.
Funeral services will be held at on Monday, January 3, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Home, 2141 South Broad Street, Hamilton, with the Reverend April Van Ness officiating.

We were so sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. Each day we looked forward to walking by Jerry and Eleanor's house. Jerry would see us coming from his window and swing open the door and step out with a big smile and a "Good Morning Ladies!!!" Sometimes after we walked by their house, we heard the door open and Jerry shouting to us "Good Morning Ladies!". Jerry added something special to our days and he will be greatly missed!
