Gerald J. Petrillo, 59, of Levittown, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro.
Jerry as he was affectionately known by his family and friends was born in Trenton, raised in Yardville, NJ, and most recently resided in Levittown, PA. He was a graduate of McCorristin High School, Class of 1982 then graduating from Rutgers University School of Business. He was the owner/operator of a family run business called Mattress Fair, in Fairless Hills, PA, he then went on to work as a manager at Bed Bath & Beyond, and then he became a district manager of Sleepy’s for many years before entering the Insurance Industry. Jerry was a licensed independent multi carrier insurance broker working in the Healthcare Industry. He was known by his co-workers as a Medicare genius. So much so that he was Jefferson Health’s preferred agent for transplant patients. One of his greatest gifts was always being available to help others.
He was an avid sports fan, who enjoyed rooting for the Philadelphia Phillies and Miami Dolphins, and enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia. He was a car fanatic who loved all animals, especially his 2 cats. Jerry was a well-rounded person who enjoyed all aspects of life, he enjoyed meeting and conversing with new people whenever he could. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. Jerry was a loving and devoted son, brother and friend and will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Predeceased by his father, Jerry Petrillo; uncles, Bruce Bitler, Dwight Bitler, and Gene Petrillo; and his aunt, Gloria Petrillo McGuire; he is survived by his mother, June (Sidney) Medley; a sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Jonathan Buckley; a niece, Brenna Buckley; uncles, Richard Petrillo and David (Anne) Bitler; as well as many cousins, and close friends.
A Memorial gathering for family and friends will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m at the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Home, 2141 South Broad Street, Hamilton.
