George L. Senf, Sr., 70, of Groveville passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2019 in Compassionate Care Hospice at RWJ Hospital Hamilton.
Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong Yardville/Groveville area resident.
George retired as a Lieutenant from Department of Corrections with over 25 years of Service. He worked at Mid State Correctional Facility and Albert C. Wagner Correctional Facility. He was also a lifetime member of the Groveville Fire Company, serving as past Chief and past Fire Commissioner. In his spare time he was an avid fisherman, enjoyed trips to the Poconos, and Atlantic City. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, but most of all he loved spending time with his beloved grandchildren.
Son of the late George C. Senf, father of the late Michelle Senf, father-in-law of the late Brendan J. Ruppenthal, and son-in-law of the late Robert F. Thompson, he is survived by his loving wife Linda Thompson Senf; his mother Elizabeth Tams Senf; mother-in-law Shirley J. Thompson, six children and their spouses, George and Danielle Senf, Jr., Kenneth Senf, Laura and Robert Shagon, Christina and Mando Perez, Jennifer Ruppenthal, and Jason and Lisa Senf; his sister Lurene C. Senf, brother Fred Senf, twelve grandchildren, Alexa, Gabriella, George III, Madison, Logan, Isabelle, Emma, Makensie, Payton, Robert II, Callan, and William; close friends Mike Morris and Wayne Kurlander; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.
Relatives and friends may attend a memorial service on Monday evening, March 25, 2019 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Buklad Yardville Memorial Chapel, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road in Yardville. Services will be held 8 p.m. at the memorial chapel with local clergy officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
