Generosa J. Festa, 68, of Jamison, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro.
Born in Trenton, he grew up in Hamilton Twp. Jerry as he was known to family and friends, graduated from Steinert High School, where he met his wife, Wendy. He went on to graduate with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University in 1980. He was proud to raise his family in Newtown, PA where he served as a member of the Newtown Planning Commission.
Jerry thrived as an Electrical Engineer/Project Manager for 40 years. He was employed by many well respected aerospace defense companies before joyfully retiring in 2020. An avid sports fan and golfer, Jerry spent his spare time out on the course, catching every NY Giants or Philadelphia Phillies game, as well as car shows. In his younger years, he enjoyed coaching his son’s football and basketball teams.
He was a fiercely loyal family man who was very proud of his Italian Heritage. Jerry loved to enjoy a nice cocktail with family and friends while singing along to his favorites, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and the Rat Pack.
Predeceased by his parents, Benjamin and Esther (Fava) Festa; he is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Wendy (Hanson) Festa; 2 children, Rachel (David) Kannapel, and Michael (Trish) Festa; 5 siblings, Benjamin Festa, Frank (Kathy) Festa, Gina Festa and fiancé James, Gloria (David) Kramer, and Raymond (Cindy) Festa; 2 grandchildren, Chase and Cole Kannapel; and his first granddaughter Festa on the way; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
A Gathering for family and friends will be held Saturday May 11, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville with a prayer service beginning at 1:30 p.m.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
