October 2, 1942 - January 7, 2023
Federico E. Chirinos, 80, of Trenton, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Capital Health Systems - Hopewell Campus.
Born in Tela, Honduras, Federico worked for the Tela Railroad Company who exported Chiquita Bananas along with his father. He held many prominent positions working for the company and traveled on many of their ships throughout the world for over 15 years. Federico then migrated to the United States in 1983. He first came to New Orleans, then moving to New York, he spent a short time in Elizabeth and finally settled in the Trenton area in 1989. He retired from the City of Trenton with over 20 years of service. He was an avid soccer fan always watching games on television. Federico also enjoyed watching old Spanish and Mexican movies, and especially liked listening to old music which he refered to as the oldies but the goodies. He loved his two dogs Toby and Luna; they were his buddies always close to his side. He also enjoyed traveling every year back to his hometown of Tela in Honduras. Most of all he loved his family and enjoyed spending his time with his wife and two children. He will greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Son of the late Fredrick and Sara Chirinos, brother of the late Ricardo, who was his twin, and late brother Jose; he is survived by his wife Mirmenia Chirinos of 30 years, his son Fredrick Chirinos, and his daughter Selvia Chirinos, several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 from 5:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m.
at the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Home, 2141 South Broad Street, Hamilton.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning, 9:30 a.m., from the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Home with local clergy officiating. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery
