Eleanor H. Weakley

May 31, 1936 - October 23, 2024

Eleanor (Hazlett) Weakley, 88, of Hamilton Square, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.

Born in Trenton, NJ, Eleanor grew up in the Hamilton area and attended Hamilton High School West, where she excelled in softball and basketball and met her beloved husband, Jerry Weakley.

Early in her career, she worked at Bell Telephone, but dedicated herself to raising her children. Later, she returned to the workforce as a real estate legal assistant for several respected law firms until her retirement. Eleanor was an active member of the Hamilton Square Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years, and later attended Memorial Baptist Church in Yardville.

Her quiet strength and warm personality made her a joy to be around. While married to the larger-than-life Jerry, she often appeared reserved, she could seem quiet and timid, but rouse her by talking sports or NASCAR, and you would see she was quite the opposite!

Eleanor was a loving wife, devoted mother, mom-mom, grandma, aunt, and friend—caring, kind, and a true cornerstone of her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Cindy and Nancy; her grandchildren, Michael, Jake (Jasmine), Nata, and Miranda; and her great-grandchildren, Sage and Ripple.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 11:00  a.m. at the  Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Rd., Yardville, with Reverend April Van Ness officiating.

Visitation for family and friends will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Yardville Memorial Home, and everyone is welcome.

Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery on Hamilton Ave., Hamilton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
