Doris Mihalow

May 31, 1930 - May 21, 2020


Doris Mihalow, 89, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2020 in Hamilton Continuing Care. Born in Morrisville, PA, Doris was a resident of Hamilton for most of her life. Primarily a homemaker, she worked at Lou’s Thriftway supermarket, and as a secretary at the Trenton Girl Scouts many years ago. Her favorite pastimes included reading novels, bowling, gardening, country music, puzzles, lunch at Pat’s Diner, membership at the Hamilton Township Senior Center, and get-togethers with her family and friends. She was also a long-time member of the Togetherness Club at Holy Angels Church with her husband of 57 years, the late Stephen A. Mihalow. Daughter of the late Charles G. and Hilda Dreisbach Booz, sister of the late Cathryn Bell and Eleanor Sharp, Doris is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen M. and Lisa Mihalow; her daughter and son-in-law, Drs. Diane Mihalow and John Arcoleo; her grandchildren Michael Mihalow and Christine Arcoleo; her brother Charles Booz; her brother-in-law George Mihalow; and several nieces and nephews. Her family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Hamilton Continuing Care for their kindness and compassion during the last five months.


Due to public health regulations, visitation and a brief prayer service will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 from 12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Home, 2141 South Broad Street, Hamilton. Burial will follow at Saints Peter & Paul cemetery on Cedar Lane.


In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions in Doris’ name may be made to either The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 3124, Union, NJ 07083 or the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Charitable Service Trust, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250.
