Donald J. Gribbin, 68, of Groveville, NJ, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at RWJ University Hospital at Hamilton, after a lengthy battle with esophageal cancer.
Born in Trenton, Don was a lifelong Groveville area resident.He graduated from Hamilton High School West, Class of 1969, where he enjoyed being a member of the band and various sports teams. Don served in the New Jersey Air National Guard for 6 years at McGuire Air Force Base in Lakehurst, NJ, as a jet mechanic.
Don was a dedicated employee of RCA-Astro Electronics in East Windsor, where he proudly worked on the development of the cameras for the Ranger Lunar Probe for NASA’s Apollo space program. Don also held positions at General Motors in Ewing Township and the Trenton Board of Education.
Don was an expert of all things James Bond/007. He enjoyed building model airplanes and ships, and collecting Disney memorabilia. Don’s greatest loves were listening to Classical music, trips down the shore, and his beloved dog Sparky.
Son of the late Donald F. and Doris Robinson Gribbin, he is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Ellen “Pat” and John Borek of Yardville; his nephew Christopher Borek and his wife Karen; niece Michelle Borek, and his great nephew Drew Borek; many close friends and neighbors.
Due to public health regulations, private funeral services were held under the direction of the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road in Yardville
