Dominick J. "Mico" Varra

January 10, 1930 - July 24, 2022

Dominick J. “Mico” Varra, 92, of Hamilton Twp, passed away peacefully, at his home, on Sunday, July 24, 2022.


Born in Pittston, Pa. he was a lifelong Trenton area resident. Following his graduation from Trenton Central High School he enlisted in the US Airforce. He later returned to Trenton where he obtained employment with C.V. Hill Refrigeration Co. as a welder. Dominick attended Mass regularly at the St. Vincent de Paul RC Church, where he was always seen sitting in the third pew with his loving companion, Erma. He was a lifelong member of the BPOE, having belonged to the Trenton Lodge #105, then the Bordentown Lodge #208. Dominick particularly enjoyed attending the annual Elks conventions and often joined in their parades. He was also a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Hamilton Twp., and a Charter member of the former Baron AA. Dominick was an avid golfer; a champion bocce player having competed in many tournaments with his partner and brother-in-law Jimmy Musto. He also enjoyed playing darts with his team at the Hibernians. Most of all, he enjoyed dancing. He was always one of the first on the dance floor and danced anything from the “twist” to the “Tarantella”.


He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Anna (Restuccio) Varra, a son Dominick, a great-grandson Anthony Gyorffy, a sister and brother-in-law Isabel and James Musto, a brother and sister-in-law, Rosario (Ross) and Marie Varra.


Dominick is survived by a son, Joseph of Burlington, NJ, and a daughter Tina Marie and her husband Eric Franzoni of Robbinsville, NJ, five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his loving sister and brother-in-law Mary Ann and John Petersack. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He also leaves behind his dearest companion, Erma DiNardo.


Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to his devoted niece Carol Ann Mancuso, Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville, New Jersey 08620.


Calling hours for family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, July 29, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home.


Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 29, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 555 Yardville-Allentown Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08620.


Entombment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ.
