Daniel P. Haas, 18, of Princeton Junction passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024 due to injuries he sustained as a passenger in a motor vehicle accident.
Danny is the youngest of four siblings, he has three older sisters and two dogs. He was a 2024 graduate of Notre Dame High School and was about to start his freshman year at Fairfield University. He played football, lacrosse, and golf. He loved to go fishing, go to the beach, dancing and listening to music, watching movies, anything sports related, and bagels with lox spread.
Danny was genuinely loved by everyone who met him. He was warm, caring, empathetic, selfless, fun, good humored, and grateful. He was always the most fun person in the room and went out of his way to make everyone feel welcome. He was a big hugger and was always so happy. He loved life, was never mad at anyone, and no one could ever get mad at him. Everyone who has reached out has commented on Danny’s smile, which always lit up the room. We don’t say this lightly when we say that Danny was the best person each of us had ever met. Danny had the fullest life and made a bigger impact in 18 years than most people do in a lifetime. Danny was such a light, and his light will live on in all of us. Through his selfless act of organ donation, Danny’s light will shine brightly in those lives that continue on.
Danny is survived by his parents, Donald and Lisa Haas; 3 sisters, Emily, Sara, and Julia; 2 dogs Cooper and Ellie; as well as many other family members and dear friends.
A Gathering for family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at St. David the King Parish, 1 New Village Road, Princeton Junction, NJ 08550.
A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 11:00 a.m.
Danny’s family will attend the 11:00 a.m. mass. Although they are grateful for the overwhelming outpouring of love shown to them at this difficult time, please respect their request to grieve privately.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Buklad-Merlino Memorial Homes, Hamilton.
