Alex F. Candelori, 86, of Yardville, passed away at home on Friday evening surrounded by his loving family.
Born and raised in the Chambersburg section of Trenton, Alex was a lifelong area resident, residing in Yardville since 1987.
He graduated from Trenton Catholic High School in 1955. Alex worked for the State of New Jersey as a Computer System Analyst and retired in 1992 after 36 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Italian American Sportsman Club, Baron AA Club, and was also a member of the New Jersey National Guard. He was an avid hunter, loved playing cards, especially catch five, enjoyed family vacations to Ocean City Maryland and Wildwood, loved to travel, and loved dogs. Most of all Alex loved spending time with his family, had a great sense of humor and could always bring a smile and laugh to all he knew and loved. He loved spending time with his great granddaughter Sofia. Their bond was something truly special and he lit up every time they were together. He was a handyman and loved teaching his skills to his children and grandchildren.
Son of the late Alexander and Elizabeth Bartolomei Candelori; he is survived by his wife Mary Ann Mason Candelori whom he was married to for 39 years but were together close to 50 years; his two children, daughter, Mary Beth Candelori-Longo; and his son, Kenneth Alex Candelori; his brother Ronald Candelori, and his wife Claire of Cape Coral, FL; his two grandchildren, Michael Longo and wife Sara, and Lauren Longo-Lopez and husband Raul Lopez; his great granddaughter, Sofia Longo; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday morning, February 16, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Buklad-Merlino Yardville Memorial Home, 30 Yardville-Allentown Road in Yardville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. at St. Vincent DePaul Church, 555 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville, NJ 08620.
Burial will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Hamilton Township.
